Vancouver is a vibrant, diverse city where people love to live. Under Vision’s leadership, many new festivals and vibrant public spaces came into being including Muralfest, CityStudio, and Robson and Jim Deva Squares to name just a few.
Vision’s commitment to the arts, culture, and vibrant city spaces is on-going. Efforts we support include:
Showcasing Local Artists - Vision will continue to encourage and seek opportunities for artists to tell their stories and our stories, with a special focus on previously underrepresented voices and communities including Indigenous communities;
Attracting More Special Events - Vision supports implementing a new special events policy that makes easier for special events to take place in Vancouver, moving from a rules-focused approach to a focus on attracting great events to our city;
More Healthy Local Food - Vision supports further expansion of local farmers’ markets and community gardens that feed people and build community;
More Parks and Gathering Places - under Vision’s leadership, Vancouver greatly expanded outdoor spaces such as parklets, public patios, and open streets events. Vision believes that in the years ahead these kind of spaces will be even more critical to keeping Vancouver a fun and vibrant city.
Support our vibrant, diverse city where people love to live.
We need a city led by a team on Council, School Board and Parks Board that that sees the big picture and is willing to support, arts, culture, and vibrant public spaces.
