Margot Sangster is seeking a city council nomination. Born in Vancouver, Margot has thirty years of experience in the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors. She currently works in residential addictions treatment and previously worked with Vancouver Coastal Health. In addition, Margot worked at Immigrant Services Society and MOSAIC with immigrants and refugees. She worked in the Philippines and advised the national government of Afghanistan. Margot earned a Master of Arts Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, and an Administrative Management Diploma from BCIT. She is a proud BCGEU member. Margot is currently a member of the City of Vancouver’s Women’s Advisory Committee and ran for parliament with the NDP in 2015. If elected, Margot is committed to addressing affordable housing and homelessness, advocating for increased resources dedicated to people struggling with addictions and mental health issues, and supporting a diverse and sustainable economy.
