Kishone Roy is a local author and affordable housing advocate who wrote Make Housing Central: British Columbia and the Affordable Housing Crisis, and was CEO of the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, Chair of the BC Rental Housing Coalition, and helped establish Housing Central: an affordable housing movement headquartered on Commercial Drive that has become a national centre of excellence in education and development across Pacific Canada.

Kishone lives in Kits and is parent to two teens in Vancouver high schools. They have campaigned for electoral reform, the 2010 Olympics, worked for the SFU Beedie School of Business, and have a Master’s degree in Leadership studies from Royal Roads.

Nationally, Kishone helped found Encasa Financial, the Canadian Chartered Institute of Housing, the Canadian Rental Housing Index, and spent a decade in as a senior advisor to government leaders in Ottawa and BC.
