Director of Engagement

 

Vision Vancouver Elector Association (Vision Vancouver) is seeking a motivated, experienced and energetic organizer for the position of Director of Engagement.

 

Overview of the Position

The Director of Engagement will play a key role in the development and the execution of the organization’s strategic plan in the area of engagement and organizing.

The Director of Engagement will develop and execute programming in the areas of outreach campaigning; membership development; volunteer engagement; community outreach and communications supporting these areas of responsibilities.

The Director of Engagement is a senior role aimed at increasing party’s capacity and working towards election readiness.

The Director of Engagement will be accountable for hiring staff for full time, part time or contracted positions that directly report to this role. The Director of Engagement reports to the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications 

The successful applicant should have:

  • A commitment to progressive politics and to Vision Vancouver’s values;

  • Demonstrated either political or issue-based campaign experience in a leadership position;

  • Ability to inspire and manage staff and volunteers;

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and competing interests;

  • Knowledge of modern voter contact and mobilization strategies;

  • Familiarity with databases and a commitment to outcome driven results;

  • Willingness to work flexible hours;

  • Ability to work well in both leadership and team environments;

  • Be both strategically driven and detail oriented;

  • Flexible in managing priorities and strong self-motivation;

  • Open to self evaluation and feedback;

  • Desire to learn, contribute and grow.

 

Please note that political experience is not a must but a proven record in successful grassroots organizing is.

 

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time position with the term ending at the completion of the 2018 municipal campaign. Salary will be negotiated based on the successful applicant’s experience.
