Some disappointing news to share – the federal government just approved Kinder Morgan’s proposed pipeline expansion.

Vision Vancouver has been clear from day one: this pipeline is wrong for our environment, it's wrong for our economy, and it’s a bad deal for Vancouver.

The Federal Government’s decision on Kinder Morgan is a missed opportunity for Canada, as there's never been a better time to aggressively shift to a clean energy future.

I want to thank the thousands of Vancouverites who stood with us, signed petitions, and who participated in Townhall meetings. We certainly sent a clear message to Ottawa – 11,000 people signed our petition in the past two weeks alone.

Vancouver will continue to raise concerns about Kinder Morgan's massive expansion, and in the coming weeks I will let you know how you can continue your involvement as we move forward. In the meantime, Vancouver's Greenest City Action Plan is still leading our city towards a sustainable future, away from fossil fuel dependence, and towards a clean, resilient economy.

Thank you for standing with us.
