Food is an intersectional issue that touches on reconciliation, equity, and community resilience — the three core principles of the newly adopted Vancouver Plan. Food policy is a key to building a livable city for all.
The event brings together the diverse perspectives of community leaders, food policy researchers, and people with lived experience of food insecurity for an evening of learning, conversation and visioning. The speakers include T’uy’t’tanat Cease Wyss, Working Group on Indigenous Food Sovereignty, Ian Marcuse, Vancouver Neighbourhood Food Networks, Kanatiio Gabriel, DUDE Club, LouAnn Schmidt, Kits Cares Café, Joey Liu, South Vancouver Neighbourhood House, Dr. Tammara Soma, Food Systems Lab, and Dawn Morrison, Working Group on Indigenous Food Sovereignty.
