Diego, our board Chair, has been a proud South Vancouver resident for over 14 years. His lived experiences as a former refugee from Colombia, and a former youth from the foster system have been key to shaping his passion for doing community organizing that is rooted in decolonization and social justice. He has worked organizing newcomer communities for policy and systemic change, as an advisor to the city of Vancouver on anti-racism policy, and as a youth-worker with marginalized communities across the lower-mainland.
