Dale Hunter

Director

Dale Hunter has lived in Vancouver for 50 years. He volunteered for Vision from 2008 to 2018, because Vision had the best platform on inclusion, reconciliation, newcomer integration, social equity and the environment, and potential for productive relationships with senior levels of government.

Dale retired in 2013 from Vancouver Community College as Dean responsible for ESL, Deaf and Hard of Hearing and sign language interpretation programs. He had oversight of all area projects and budgets and worked closely with provincial and federal ministries. He served as a Board member, VP and President of the Board of ELSA Net, a BC umbrella for providers of government-funded settlement English programs.

Dale holds a Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from UBC and speaks French and Spanish, and rusty Mandarin in a pinch. He and his partner Yvonne are renters in Fairview.
