In 2014, Catherine Evans was elected to the Vancouver Park Board and is currently the Vice-Chair. Prior to her election, she was Chair of the Vancouver Public Library Board.
Catherine is a community leader, parent of millennials, former business owner and lawyer. She also spent nearly 15 years as a policy advisor and in senior management in the governments of Ontario and BC.
In her work and volunteer life Catherine has provided leadership on issues related to public education, homelessness, pay equity, employment equity, adult guardianship, and environmental stewardship. She has contributed to the work of residents’ associations, children’s sports organizations, political parties, parent advisory councils, and a number of women’s groups including West Coast Leaf and the Canadian Women Voters’ Congress.
In 2012, Catherine was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for community service. She lives with her husband Paul in Kitsilano.
