George Chow

City Council
"We need Gregor Robertson and the Vision team to restore trust and leadership at City Hall."

A long-time Vancouver resident and graduate of UBC, George grew up in the Downtown Eastside and worked as a BC Hydro Engineer for 30 years.

Elected Councillor in 2005 and re-elected in 2008, George approaches issues with honesty and fairness. As an outspoken advocate for improving accountability, public consultation, and transparency at City Hall, George introduced several motions regarding campaign finance reform.

George believes citizens should feel safe anywhere in our city and has called for an increase of patrol officers on our streets. George supports preservation of our heritage buildings and neighbourhoods.

Serving as Liaison Councillor to the Musqueam Nation, George strives to reach out to our aboriginal and other communities – a process started when he was president of the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver – to help build a more harmonious and inclusive city.

George is committed to restoring trust and leadership at City Hall.
