What an incredible result.
Thank you to the voters of Vancouver for all of your support. Thank you for electing the entire Vision team, and sending me back to City Hall as your Mayor.
Your overwhelming show of support has made an incredible difference. You’ve shown that Vancouver is a city that cares. A city that works together to lift everyone up.
And you’ve made it clear that you want us to continue to focus on the issues we started with three years ago:
- Ending street homelessness, and making it more affordable to live here.
- Making our neighborhoods safer and more vibrant.
- Creating good jobs across our diverse economy, including our arts community.
- And making Vancouver the world’s greenest city by 2020.
Thank you to all who ran, especially our friends at COPE, and all those who have given themselves to public service who will not be returning. The City of Vancouver owes you a debt of gratitude.
We have a challenging agenda ahead of us. Our friends and neighbours have given us an ambitious mandate to make our city better, greener, more compassionate and fair, and more livable for everyone.
The opportunity to help make that a reality is a tremendous privilege. And for that privilege – for your trust – for all your hard work and effort — thank you.
Sincerely,
Gregor Robertson and the Vision Vancouver Team
